    <p>In "Sado", one of the representative of Japanese traditional culture, it is said that there is a purpose to rise the mind of "Omotenashi" and to calm the mind and cultivate the spirit. Now the idea that the mind settles down by Japanese tea ceremony is common in Japan, but there are few studies to clarify it. In our research whether the mind calming down or not about participants of the Japanese tea ceremony was examined. The heart rate measurement was performed to 25 participants with 5 groups, and R-R intervals was obtained. From R-R intervals, tone and entropy was calculated. As a result, there was a tendency that the mind calming down in almost subjects in all groups.</p>

    The hanging scroll is a traditional mounting format for paintings and calligraphy. The scroll must be hung straight when it is displayed, and rolled up smoothly when it is stored. For making this two function be possible, the scroll maker used wash papers and a starch paste for lining. The paste is usually diluted with a water and it cannot have the enough adhesive power. And the mounter uses the special pounding brush for getting the strong adhesiveness. In this study, an adhesive effect of the diluted paste and pounding technique will be researched with using a peeling test.

    Hand lay-up fabrication has been used for forming composite structures since ancient times as it can be performed as long as the mold, skills, and materials are available. On the other hand, the hand lay-up fabrication work itself relies on human skills, which means that the finish differs according to the operator carrying out the work, the quality of the product differs among parts depending on the ease of forming, and that defects such as bubbles tend to occur easily. In this study, the experiment quantified techniques that are not visibly apparent and considered to be tacit knowledge.

    "Kana-ami" is a kind of metal wire network in Japan, which was once prevailed many years ago in the old Japan and has been decreased in the development of social industrialization. In previous research, the characteristics of the "Kana-ami" hexagonal structure were clarified, the metal wire net of "Kana-ami" made by expert presented the convex shape in vertical direction so that helps buffer the fall. The results confirmed the superiority of the product made by expert. In this research, the actual structure of "Kana-ami" was further clarified by numerical observation. And the advantage of the expert's product was found. The three-dimensional analysis method was applied to present the different actual structure.

    The technique of making "Kana-ami" is traditional craftsmanship in Kyoto. All wire net fabrications are made by the hand work, so that it is expected that the craft man has the exquisiteness of motion. The purpose of this study is to clarify the characteristics of motion during the weaving the wire nets with different years of experience. The subjects were three males whose have experienced wire netting craftsman for 44 years, 8 years and 0 years respectively. The working environment was reproduced in the laboratory so that the subjects might work usual like working environment as much as possible and they could concentrate on them work. The infrared reflection markers were affixed at 21 points on the body of the craftsman to analyze motion during the wire netting. And six cameras captured the position of each marker, and all markers position data which synchronized were taken in by a computer. In addition, shapes of wire net were evaluated. The shapes of tortoiseshells were evaluated by length of each side.

    Kyo-Gawara is one of traditional crafts, one of Japanese roof tile made in Kyoto by using traditional techniques. The characteristics of Kyo-gawara are gloss on surface available in "Migaki" process. Migaki process is that craftsman strokes half-dry surface with paddle one by one. Two craftsmen having different career participated as subjects, motion analysis during Migaki movement were performed. As a result of motion analysis, Expert took less time to finish Migaki process than nonexpert. Number of time for stroking surface of expert was less than nonexpert.

    A Japanese paper that is made in Saijo city is called "Saijo-Japanese paper", which is one of traditional crafts in Japan. One of the main characteristics of the Saijo-Japanese paper is a crape structure. The crape structure is made by craftsmen's hand. Weakening demand for the Saijo-Japanese paper is required to create new products by using the Saijo-Japanese paper. The illuminator using Saijo-Japanese paper is proposed as one example. However, light transmission properties of the Saijo-Japanese paper are not clarified. In this study, the crape structures and the light transmission properties of the Saijo-Japanese paper with various making condition were quantified. The light transmission properties were affected by the crape structures.

    Kyo-wall is Japanese traditional technology creating calm and natural room atmosphere, supported by simple materials (clay, vegetable fiber and water), human skill succeeded for more than 400years and some kinds of trowels. We have found the significant flow differences of kyo-wall compound according to trowel materials with high speed VTR image analysis. In this report the peculiar high flow of Kyo-wall compound on old Mizunaze trowel by Japanese sword specialist against on current trowel will be presented, and especially smooth flowing and deformation in mixing process and smooth sliding on the trowel surface in transferring process to wall will be discussed. This shows that the secret of hand made tools harmonized with material processing should be still hidden in traditional technologies.

    Transfer nursing is frequently performed in a nursing site, and is nursing movement with a body-like burden.It's important to get away from the bed which are bedclothes and live to raise the living quality of the linchpin assistance person. When a linchpin assistance person can't move from a bed to a wheelchair without help, help of care giveris needed. Care giver calls the movement which makes the linchpin assistance person who is an object move transfer assistance movement. When doing transfer assistance movement, there is two of risk to which I should pay attention. One is a burden of an assistance person, and another is a burden of care giver. Both are in the comfortable state and what is the assistance technology standardized from inspection of reproducibility of composition movement of an expert and a non-expert using a concept of the Jerk of the verticalness direction using a three-dimensional movement analysis by need or writing to transfer? A possibility of the nursing according to the situation of the mind and feel of a linchpin care receiver is analyzed by applying it.

    The die life is important for the forging parts production efficiency. If the die is fractured under production accidentally, it may cause a damage to the productivity. A stable quality control that accurately follows the specifications of the drawing is required in the dies. In order to satisfy such requirements, establishment of die production system that can repeatedly recreate the same processing conditions is necessary. In this report, we analyzed the polishing work using a Finger TPS sensor system. The analysis results of the factors that influence their work efficiency are reported.

    The tears of wine are an effect caused by capillary phenomenon and the mechanism has been discussed mainly on alcohol concentration. However, there are few researches discussed on wine glass materials. In our series of research, the effect of wine glass materials on tears of wine is discussed by using Japanese ceramic cups RyosoKairagi. On RyusoKairagi we can see the pattern like scratched trace by dragon"s nail, caused by different thermal expansions between brawn color base and white glaze material. In this study three types of ceramic cups (W, H and K) are found which have different effects of the tears of wine. Also, dynamic retreat contact angle measuring method is applied on the surfaces, and the relation between the tears of wine and dynamic contact angle is discussed.
