    In Japan, the Sport Basic Plan was formulated in 2012, which mentions not only the development of highly qualified sports instructors but also new perspectives such as the provision of programs in which everyone can enjoy the value of sports together. Against this background, trials of new technologies utilizing the latest ICT equipment such as sensor devices are being made. However, in college sports, where financial resources are often limited, shooting with hand-held video cameras is the most common method, which may cause the manager to overlook important scenes of play depending on his or her skill level. This problem affects not only competitors but also spectators. To solve this problem, we develop a system for capturing video images of the entire field with multiple fixed video cameras so that the system can automatically switch from one to another video of the most appropriate camera for the respective scenes of play. The results of the demonstration experiments in basketball and futsal showed that the switching video of the proposed technology can be utilized for tactical analysis in sports.

    In our country, AI-based survey methods are being promoted to streamline traffic volume surveys. Existing research has shown that vehicle section identification using AI can count sectional traffic volumes by vehicle type, but accuracy decreases due to flares and scenery reflections. Additionally, vehicle types can be determined by recognizing the leading number of the classification code on license plates, but the recognition accuracy decreases when the characters are unclear. Therefore, this study proposes a method to determine vehicle types by recognizing classification codes when the characters are clear and by using vehicle section identification results when the characters are unclear. Applying the proposed method to videos taken at three different locations resulted in a high accuracy with an F-measure of 0.95 or higher at all locations. In the future, we aim for early practical application in automotive traffic volume surveys by accommodating license plates with designs.

    Recently, there have been many cases of analyzing traffic volume and travel speed per route using probe data collected from automobiles. In addition, if the behavior of individual vehicles could be understood in terms of driving lanes, more advanced road traffic analysis could be realized, such as analyzing the behavior of lane changes at mergers and crossings. In this study, we devised a method to estimate the lane of driving of individual vehicles from ETC2.0 probe data, which has higher positioning accuracy than ETC2.0 probe data, by superimposing the driving trajectories of individual vehicles on a mesh divided by lane. Then, machine learning was applied to the time-series changes in the unique numbers assigned to the mesh. The results suggest that although the estimation results are affected by the positioning accuracy of ETC2.0 probe data, it is possible to estimate the driving lane of an individual vehicle with higher accuracy than when the positioning points are checked one by one.

    In Japan, AI is being incorporated into automobile traffic volume surveys to enhance efficiency. By recognizing license plates in these surveys, it's possible to measure vehicle flow, refining the accuracy of the survey. However, when the video footage is taken from a high vantage point on the road's shoulder, the license plates appear tilted. To correct this, the image needs to be adjusted to a frontal orientation. If the license plate and the vehicle have the same color, determining a reference point for the projective transformation becomes challenging. To address this issue, we developed a method that corrects the license plate to a front-facing orientation using a projective transformation, based on the position of the fourth digit of the serial number—a consistent feature on all license plates. Our experimental results indicated successful character extraction from 479 out of 500 images. We aim to apply this technique in future traffic flow studies to identify the same vehicle at multiple locations.

    In the field of sports, 3D sensing technology, which uses video cameras and sensors to acquire the three-dimensional movements of athletes in a time series, has been attracting attention. However, when acquiring 3D positions with a video camera, it is necessary to capture the same object from multiple viewpoints. Therefore, we compared the coordinate positions of single view point cloud data acquired by inexpensive LiDAR with the 3D position of an athlete from images generated by a video camera, and confirmed that the error in the 3D position of the athlete was small. As a result, we confirmed that there was a low error in the athlete's positional accuracy. This demonstrates the feasibility of athlete position estimation from a single viewpoint and from a long distance, and also clarifies the challenges of using LiDAR and a camera.

    近年,IoT の利活用が推進され,IoT を家電に適用したスマート家電が普及している.特にスマート冷蔵庫では在庫管理をはじめとする様々な機能が搭載されている.既存製品では庫内カメラから状況を目視で確認できるものがあり,既存研究では重量センサを用いた在庫管理の手法が提案されている.しかし,既存製品ではカメラの死角の確認が取れなかったり,既存研究では物の入出庫は一度に一つまでの制限があり,利便性が低い問題点がある.本稿では死角の無い冷蔵庫上部からのカメラ動画を画像認識技術で解析することで在庫管理システムを実現し,また開発したシステムは画像の認識結果に大きく依存するため学習データの組み合わせを変え,認識精度に与える影響について検討を行った.

    カレッジスポーツにおいては,個人のパフォーマンスの分析やチームの戦術分析に繋げるため,撮影した試合や練習の映像を確認し,指導者と共にフォーマンスを振り返っている.そこで,映像全体をフォーメーションに則したプレーごとに細かく分類することができれば,素早くそのプレーの良し悪しを分析可能である.しかし,現状の分類作業では,専門知識を持った複数のアナリストがマニュアルで行っている.そこで,AI(Artificial Intelligence)技術を駆使し、作業を簡略化しているが,カレッジスポーツを対象にしているものではない.そこで,本研究では,サッカーに着目し,アマチュアの利用を想定した深層学習によるプレーシーンの自動検出について検討する.

    我が国では,スポーツ庁の設立に伴い,「第2期スポーツ基本計画」を策定し, ICTを活用した競技水準の向上に関する政策が推進されている.特に,フィールドスポーツにおいては,映像から取得した選手位置とその軌跡を用いた戦術分析に関する研究が数多く行われている.しかし,これらの研究では,選手に影が発生していた場合,それを含めて選手として認識することから正確な位置情報を獲得することができない.そこで,本研究では,対象の模様や,明暗,色彩などの変換が可能なGAN(Generative Adversarial Network)の技術,具体的にはpix2pixを用いて,映像から選手の影を除去するシステムを提案する.これにより,人物の位置同定の精度向上を実現する.

    According to the guidelines on instruction by athletic clubs that the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology established in 2013, it is important that coaches not only depend on their own experiences, but also learn from scientific studies by sports specialists. In recent years, measurement devices have been developed that can immediately give feedback on a batter’s swing; the measurement devices were further refined and were reduced in size by the development of sensor technology. The device then became able to assess the characteristics of the batter’s swing from the measurement data. However, a coaching method based on such scientific data has not yet been established in amateur baseball clubs because of the mixture of rational and practical instruction and the difficulty of the interpretation from calculated numerical values. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics of a batter’s swing using an evaluation from a baseball coach with a great deal of experience when assessing batting skills.

    In Japan, policies that deal with energetic activity of athletes and improvement in the standards of competitions are implemented towards the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. From such of circumstances, studies are much conducted on applying ICT (Information and Communication Technology) to sports, in particular, on visualizing players’ positions or tracked movement using measurement instrumentation such as GNSS to analyze their performances. However, there are cases when players cannot wear measurement instrumentation during a game depending on the kind of sports. Therefore, image processing is often used as a main approach to obtaining players’ positions and tracking their movement. In this research, we propose a method for identifying and locating the players by using OpenPose, which can deal with an occlusion with only one camera by performing color interpolation on single-viewpoint image. In the experiment, we evaluate the utility of the method by verifying the identification accuracy for soccer players.

    マイクロブログの投稿内容から推定したユーザの地域属性を用いて, ユーザに合った情報提供や販売戦略に役立てるサービスが注目されている. 地域推定の既存研究では,投稿内容に加えてジオタグや地域特徴語を用いる. しかし, 前者は,ジオタグを利用するユーザが少ないため汎用性が低い. 後者は, 駅名やイベント名称等の地域を特定する地域特徴語に限りがある. 全国的にそれらの出現率を比較すると, 都市部に比べ投稿数が少ない地方が低くなる傾向があり, 地域推定の結果に差異が生じる課題がある. そこで, 本研究では, 地域ごとの類語の違いを用いて, 地域特徴語等に縛られない新たな指標を用いた地域推定の手法を検討する.

    我が国では,スポーツとITの融合による競技力向上に係る取り組みに注目が集まっている.バレーボール日本代表チームでは,戦術分析ソフトウェアを駆使することで顕著な成果を上げている.これらの分析には,データ解析と競技に関する専門知識を持つ人材に加えて,試合や練習における選手の動きや得点等のデータが必要である.しかし,カレッジスポーツに着目すると,専門知識の継承が難しく,データも不足しているため,十分な分析ができていない.そこで,本研究では,ビデオカメラで撮影したバレーボールの試合映像を用いた選手追跡システムを開発する.そして,カレッジスポーツに適用し,競技力向上や的確な指導の支援に繋がるかを検証する.

    In our country, policies regarding sports are actively advanced towards the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. One of those policies, "Sports x ICT" considers effective methods of utilizing ICT (Information and Communication Technology), such as development of measurement instruments, measurement and visualization of data, and proposals for new services in the field of sports. Against this backdrop, we have been developing the visualization system for American football games using terminal devices included GNSS and acceleration sensor. Using that system, it is confirmed that the effective information which are the individual condition and the motion analysis of american football players against not only players but also the college football leaders can be grasped. But, in the our existing research, we could not realize the strategy for analyzing games selected for play calls depending on circumstances, to make a prediction of successful ratio, and so on. Then, in this paper, we aim to analyze the match-up for offence and defense players related to pass plays using deep learning. Reasoning the success rate of pass plays, it is capable to provide the new awareness for American football strategies to the manager and coaches.

    Recently, in order to view TV lives and appreciate sports watching or analyze video images for those sports videos taken by multiple video cameras, a technique interlocking multiple cameras using wired or wireless and taking videos with a time synchronization has been developed. However, the existing method has a problem that the cost of special device introduction is large. On the other hand, there is a method using an inexpensive device such as a smartphone has also been proposed. However, according to the different processing speed depending on performances of varies terminals, there will be a time lag occurs in the videos captured by different terminals Also there is a problem that the video cameras usually used in sports have not the information communication function to synchronize time. Therefore, in this research, we try to clarify the problem in time synchronization of multiple videos taken by different cameras usually used and consider the synchronization technique using image information projected in videos taken by those cameras.

    Because of the spread of microblogs and SNS (Social Networking Service), life logs submitted by their users are becoming various. With analyzing these life logs, attributes of those users such as gender, age, occupation, and living region can be acquired. So it is being expected that these attributes can be utilized in corporate sales strategies, etc. In particular, it can be said that the living region is very useful in area marketing. In existing researches for estimating living regions, methods using the region’s special words selected from topic models or analyzing differences in preference for each user's living region have been proposed. However, in the first method, the appearance frequency of topics concerned with a season such as snow is different from another season. Therefore, here comes a problem that the appearance frequency of region’s special words extracted by this method in different seasons are different. And then the region which special words stands for is different from living region. On the other hand, the second method also has a problem that it is difficult to estimate living region because of the low correlation between it and preference of a user. Therefore, in this research, we consider a method focused on synonyms which are used in different regions have the same meaning.

    In Japan, supporting activities in terms of scientific research and so on for the purpose of improvement in performances of Japanese national athletes and competition levels are required towards the 2020 Olympic Games. Under these circumstances, ICT (Information and Communication Technology) technologies have been developed in the area of sports. The authors have also developed the visualization system for field sports. The system can provide coaches with the ground for instruction by quantifying and visualizing the performance of individual athletes. However, it has a problem that team performance like formations cannot be grasped precisely. In this study, we develop a new visualization system that is capable of confirming team formations for soccer. Then the performances of individual athletes as well as the whole team are visualized in actual games, and practical usability of the system is verified based on the point of view whether it can provide coaches with qualitative information of team formations.

    According to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology guidelines in 2013 on instruction in athletic club activities, it is important that coaches use not only their own experience, but also understand and use the results of studies by sports science specialists. In recent years, a device that provides measured results immediately after the batting swing has been developed by downsizing of the device following advances in sensor technology and IT techniques. This device measures the bat swing characteristics from the measurement data. However, coaching methodology based on scientific data is not yet established in amateur baseball clubs, possibly because of a mixture of rational and irrational instruction and difficulty in interpretation of the calculated numerical values. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of using a data-based evaluation sheet on the understanding and motivation for batting practice in high school baseball players, and to examine the coaching method for baseball hitting using a swing measurement device.
